Petey's Halloween costumes

We found out June 19, 2009 that my husband has prostate cancer. We found a support group in August for men with prostate cancer in Lancaster, Ohio. We attended out first meeting and had a great time. At the end of the meeting there is the groups mascot that goes with someone that night. We got to bring Petey home with for a couple of months because Ray had his surgery in October. So since we had Petey in October he wanted to go out Trick or Treating. So he picked out a few costumes and went out.
He had a GREAT time!!
We attended out supprt group meeting last night our Chapter Leader had the pictures of Petey in the power point presentation. Everyone got a big kick out of Petey in his cosutmes. Even though the men are dealing with cancer they can still laugh! The biggest laugh was when they all found out that Petey has his own passport!

The secret word is Chanute!

We were at Walmart one day and we ran into one of the elementary school teachers that we have know for many years.

We stood there talking for a long time about many diffrent things.  Ray was talking about being stationed at Chanute AFB.  Chris said that was going to be her new favorite word.

She's always using Post-it Notes!  When Ray was in surgery she wrote him a note on, you guessed it Post It Notes!

Flowers Card 2009

So I am starting to get back into creating my cards again!

For Ray's surgery his former employer sent flowers, and he wanted me to make a Thank you card.  So tonight this is what I came up with.  He wanted the pcture of the flowers in the card, I have to go to Walmart tomorrow and pick up the picture from the photo lab.

I printied if off my printer tonight so that I could post the card with the flowers in the card.  So that you could see what it will really look like.

I do have to admit not bad for just a few hours work!

Purple Ribbon Chocolate Candy Suckers

One of Ray's co-workers daughter has a form of childhood cancer.  I made her some small purple ribbons that fit on name badges, and since I had the ribbon candy molds.  I changed the color instead of the blue that I have been making them.

So tonight I ended up making 33 suckers I had 34 but one broke so someone had to eat it.  My oldest son kept watching me making the suckers and eyeing them.  So being a good mom I gave it to him.

I just cut out 271 little purple ribbons that fit nicely on name badges and going to give that also to the mother of the child with cancer.

Work in Progress

Ok so here is the deal!  We went to Applebe's the other night for dinner.  Heineken beer people were there doing a game and giving out samples.  They left the coaster on the table if you wanted to sample the beer.  I am not a beer drinker but I seen a scrapbook idea here.  So I asked for another one to make a book.

I not only got one nore but they gave me enough to make about 6 books.  I have this really cute idea so check back to see it!

Gift card albums and notes

I made these today with the gift cards from restraunts and other stores.  I always ask for them back and now you see why.  The first one has a post-it note pad in it.

Grandpa's Birthday cards

August 30th was Ray's 57th birthday, Noah came for a visit and got here on the 28th but really late but when he woke up the next morning.  I took him into my scrapbook room to see all of my toys.  I asked him if he wanted to make grandpa a birthday card.  He said yes!  So he picked out what he wanted to use on his cards stamps, ribbon, and decorations (as he called them).
I made copies of the cards and added them to the scrapbook that I am doing with Our Journey with Prostate Cancer.

On Ray's birthday all the kids paid to have family pictures taken.  Which was great, as you see there is one of Grandpa and Noah.  It is one of my favorite pictures so I had to add it to the book also.
